What are Pedi Wrap Leg Immobilizers?

Leg braces help a child stand or walk.

It’s a helpful tool to aid in stability and controlling your leg movements.

For instance, a child with poor motor control in their legs may benefit from wearing leg braces or immobilizers.

The extra support provides kids the boost of confidence they need to excel in their daily life.

Standout Features

Among the super cute design, this leg immobilizer stands out for several reasons…

  • Comfy to wear
    pedi-wrap-pediatric-leg-immobilizer
  • Improves movement and strength in the leg muscles
  • Protects stitches, bandages, and injuries
  • Use for night splinting
  • Provides stability to control leg movements
  • Use in different settings at home or during physical therapy sessions
  • Easy to wash

It’s recommended to wash and dry the leg braces with a load of towels.

Kids with conditions like cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, or those with poor motor control in their lower extremities can benefit from wearing leg immobilizers.

So how do you know which size to get?

Let’s explore that next.

How to Measure the Correct Size

Here are 3 easy steps to measure your kiddo for the right size…

  1. Have your child sit down and hold their leg out.
  2. Then, measure the length starting at their inner thigh to their ankle (this is the size immobilizer you will need).
  3. Then go ahead and measure the circumference around their upper thigh and ankle.

The Pedi-Wrap is intended to cover the full length of the leg while fitting comfortably snug around the leg.

How to Adjust the Leg Immobilizer

The leg immobilizers come in a pair (one for each leg).

To adjust the immobilizer it’s super simple to do…

  • The 4-inch velcro along one side adjusts the width
  • The 2-inch wide velcro strap provides added support

Check out this short clip on how to measure and adjust the leg wrap.

Materials Used

The inside and outside layers are made of soft cotton.

No need to worry about chaffing or your skin becoming overly irritated.

The middle layer feels a little squishy due to the poly-fil.

There is also an additional pocket that comes with a plastic insert to provide more support if needed.

What Reviewers are Sharing…

Here are what some reviewers are sharing…

Comfortable and Appealing

“We just got our daughters in the mail and they are awesome, more comfortable, and appealing than her last pair from a different company! The price is very affordable.” ~ www.medi-kid.com

Great Product

“My daughter has various medical complexes, including Cerebral Palsy. Her spastic legs keep her from keeping them straight. So using those has helped keep her legs stretched. I have received many compliments on them from various Special Education Teachers and Physical Therapists. 2 years later they are still working perfectly. Very good quality!” ~ www.medi-kid.com

Final Verdict

For toddlers or kids who need support for walking and standing, these leg immobilizers are a wonderful choice.

They are great to use at home or during physical therapy sessions.

A Personal Note…

cuevas-medek-exercises
Max is balancing to strengthen his core.

I was personally exposed to the Pedi Wrap Leg Immobilizer through The LENN Foundation who I volunteer for and manage with my sister and incredible board members.

We help kids with Cerebral Palsy.

The leg immobilizer is a highly recommended tool certified Cuevas Medek Exercise (CME) therapists tell families to get prior to the start of an intensive therapy program at home because…

  • Its soft, stable immobilization keeps the knee from bending
  • Provides a prolonged stretch
  • Discourages leg movement

It’s a helpful stability device to prevent a child from putting weight on their knee or moving it around.

Meet Max, who is doing an at-home Cuevas Medek Exercise (CME) therapy session.

Thank You!

I want to wrap up by extending my gratitude to thank you for stopping by today!

I pray more lives be impacted through your foundation. so about the product, i have a little cousin sister who kind of sustains a crooked bone structure from birth, though she is currently on a therapy, but hasn’t really be able to walk effectively by herself. please do you think this product could be effective in helping her walk well?

    • Lindsey Kovach says

Thanks for sharing! The pedi-wrap is suppose to help stabilize posture to assist with walking or taking independent steps.  From results we’ve personally seen and heard about, the pedi-wrap has done just this.

Hey nice review you have there. Is so heartbreadking seeing your kids passing through pains of Spastic Cerebral Palsy, they do not choose to be a victim rather they were unfortunate to be one. The best thing parents can do in such situations is to give the child the necessary support they need. And I believe the pedi wrap leg mobilizer will definitely help kids with spastic to move around due to its supportive nature.

This is the first time that I have heard of the leg immobilizer for children I believe that the inventor of this leg immobilizer did a pretty great job for children because it offers so much and I know that parents that see your post will be so happy to come across a product like this that offers so much help and will help make life easy for both them and their child.

    • Lindsey Kovach says

That is the feedback we’ve received from parents as well through our foundation.  Thanks Norman!

Hello there, I really appreciate your good works with the foundation, helping children with special needs. I wish to do such but I am having some few set back.

Well I really don’t know much about “pedi-leg immobilizer” but I want to ask, can it help a child who is a year old and has not started walking? Not that the child is sick or something, but at the age of one,the child should be walking, just wondering if it can help, thanks.

    • Lindsey Kovach says

      at

Hi Lizzy, thanks for reaching out.  To answer your question, absolutely!  If the child is starting to stand or try and walk at 1 year, then the leg immobilizer can most certainly aid the child in these movements by allowing their muscles to stretch and stay stabilized.

    Hi Lindsey & Alycia,

Just from looking at the photos, one can quickly see that there’s a lot of positive energy going around. When the mind and the spirit is in a good place, the body doesn’t have a choice, but HAVE to follow! I honestly believe that your positiveness contributes a lot to the success of your project.

Even if children are still small, however disabled or impaired in any way, if they are being treated in an environment with high energy, it just speeds up their healing and recovery. All humans like to FEEL good, and I think that it the very first place to start, and this is obviously how you treat your customers/patients. Awesome!

    • Lindsey Kovach says

      at

Hi Andre, thank you so much for the kind words and feedback!  I couldn’t agree more with you, positivity goes a long way in the healing and recovery process 🙂  Feeling good and having support is a wonderful combination for success!

  14. Lauranne says

    Hi Lindsey !
I would like to congratulate you for the amazing time you spend with your sister for the foundation, helping those children. It’s crazy to see that simple things can achieve greater things. I had no idea that a simple leg immobilizer like this one could actually give more strength and stability to a child. How about the feedback from those children, do they accept it and do they feel comfortable with it ? Have you seen any personal development of those children? By wearing it, are they gaining confidence ?

    • Lindsey Kovach says

      at

Hey Lauranne!  Thanks so much for the kind words and GREAT questions by the way.  The parents children who have used the leg immobilizer say the material is soft so their child is comfortable while wearing it.  Nothing is jabbing or poking them.  And yes, we definitely have seen and heard first hand the progress a child makes in their development while wearing the immobilizer.  They have more stability and some have even taken independent steps with it on.  It melts my heart when a simple product like this can make a child’s confidence soar because of the independence they feel. 🙂
