The YouTube kids read aloud, Penguin on Vacation, is a charming story about a penguin who goes on vacation to somewhere the opposite of cold!
Can you guess where?
Geisel Honor-winning author and illustrator Salina Yoon nails this energetic story.
Through vibrant illustrations and simple text this story is the perfect read for the youngest youth.
Be sure to stick around from start to finish to access your read aloud, printable activity, and my top recommended resource to boost a kiddos’ reading and writing skills.
What’s It About?
An adorable penguin needs a change of scenery from the ice and snow.
He decides to go on vacation to the … BEACH. 🙂
A tropical adventure is just what a penguin needs.
He meets a tiny friend “crab” who shows him how to have fun in the sun.
Their relationship blossoms into a beautiful friendship.
But when penguin’s vacation comes to an end (as all vacations unfortunately do)…
Will distance allow penguin and crab to continue their new friendship?

My Top Recommended Tool to Boost Skills…
As a parent, getting our child to read and write effectively early on may seem like an overwhelming thing to do.
I’m here to tell you it is perfectly normal to feel this way and it’s OK. 🙂
Every kid blossom’s at their own pace.
It’s our duty as a parent to inspire our kids to want to learn.
Learning doesn’t have to be boring, actually the more fun and enjoyable we make it, the easier it is!
I want to share with you a tool I used to help my 6-year-old son, Cody, who struggled with reading and writing.
Cody loved math but was not a huge fan of writing or reading, ugh.
The learning curriculum below truly helped him and he enjoyed it!
He didn’t even realize he was boosting his skills because he was having fun.

This sounds like a wonderful adventure for children.
Even the smallest children will be able to picture the scene and hopefully get lost in the story.
These books just don’t amuse a child for a while, but hopefully spark their love for stories an then hopefully encourage them to read them themselves as soon as they learn to read.
You give just enough information to give an overview of the story without giving it away. Even the parents like to enjoy the story and not have it spoiled!
Thanks for sharing your feedback!
Thanks for sharing this review with us. This sounds like another delightful book for young children that does a wonderful job discussing the beauty of friendship and the need to have a change of scenery every once in a while. I’ll be passing this one along to my friends and family with little ones also.
Great! Thanks for sharing. 🙂
Nice, another children’s book to read to my grand children. My granddaughter love Penguins. I bet she would love this book and my smaller grandson’s would like this book too. I would like to go somewhere warm with the penguin too! It’s cold where I am at and could use a beach vacation with the penguin. Thanks for the post. I will mark it for my grand kids.
Thanks Chris!
