Storybook Activity

Download the FREE counting activity below, “How many Cookies are in the Cookie Jar?”.

Practice counting and writing numbers one to eight.

Get creative by coloring the jars too!

The key focus of this activity is to “count sets” in order to develop an understanding of cardinality.

This means that when you count the items in a set, the last number counted tells you the SIZE of that set.

Are there LOTS of cookies in the jar or just a few?

You also realize the number you count stays “constant” in that set.

Meaning no cookies are being added or taken away from the jar.

Wahoo, what an good way to teach and develop a child’s intelligence. The story line of a cookie thief will definitely attract a childs attention. Then the counting in set is another thing that can help improve the analytical and numeric skill of a child. I love the idea of the animals meeting and revealing they did not take the cookie. This will keep the child in suspense and keep his or her attention on the book. Thank for this good read

This sounds like such a fun way to have kids not just reading, but also counting as the cookies disappear from the jar. And of course all kids can relate to a cookie thief and a cookie monster. Great to have the activities included as well and learn about counting in sets.

Kids learn so much better and quicker if it is done as part of a fun and interactive game, and Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar, is perfect for that.

This seems like an interesting book. And I like the idea of teaching numbers and the names of different animals through a nice story. Thank you very much for calling my attention to it. And being able to check it out on YouTube is awesome. I feel my child will enjoy this story (and also learn a ton).
